11th November 2012 was the 94th Independence of Poland. It regained it Independence in 1918. Poland is officially called the Republic of Poland (Polish:Rzeczpospolita Polska). Warsaw is its Capital city. Poland is situated in Central Europe with Germany, the Czech Republic and Slovakia, Ukraine, Belarus and Lithuania as its neighbors to the west, south and east respectively.
Independence Day is considered as one of the most important holiday in Poland because on this day in the history Poland appears as an independent state on the map of world after end of 123 years of occupation. Run for Independence is an annual event held on Independence Day celebrating the rebirth of the country.
